Camryn Nguyen is a GIS Analyst for the Integrated Health and Policy Research Division at IFS and a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Geography, specializing in Geographic Information Science (GIS). Her goal is to use spatial data and geospatial technologies to support data-driven decision-making in public health, emergency response, and urban planning.

With 15 years of experience across various industries and states, Camryn has built a strong foundation in problem-solving, data analysis, and creating impactful visualizations. Before joining IFS, she began her career in 2009 in Dallas, TX, in architectural design and planning, gaining expertise in construction documents using tools like CAD, Revit, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator. In 2016, she transitioned to telecommunications, where she initially designed telecom routes and trained a team, helping expand broadband access to rural and underserved areas while supporting economic development through improved network infrastructure. As she advanced to Assistant Project Manager, she took on responsibilities such as managing projects, overseeing permit acquisitions across multiple states, and collaborating with SCDOT on rights-of-way acquisition. By 2023, she worked in land development, further expanding her skills in communication systems, infrastructure planning, and real estate processes. These experiences led her to discover a passion for GIS, using it to model networks and create meaningful maps that influence decision-making and improve access to education, healthcare, and emergency services in rural and underserved areas

Outside of work, Camryn enjoys designing therapeutic spaces and gardens. She also researches medicinal plants, studies maps, creates art, and loves traveling. Camryn mentors college students and young people in the community, offering guidance and support by connecting with their families and understanding their needs.
