The Institute for Families in Society (IFS) is seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst/Cartographer to drive the continued growth, evolution, and adoption of our GIS strategy and platform in health policy research. Position requires use of GIS software, tools, and methods to generate maps and other visualization products (paper, image, pdf, poster, infographic, and web) and conduct routine spatial analyses based on predefined procedures. Position is responsible for IHPR’s mapping product design and implementation and will work with Senior GIS staff to create conceptualized products and standardized mapping templates. Other software usages will include Adobe products (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop); programming languages (e.g., SAS, SQL, Python, JavaScript); and health-related research methods and standards (e.g., HIPAA) in a fast-paced, applied research environment to meet contract deliverables and goals.
The Institute for Families in Society (IFS) at the University of South Carolina (UofSC) is seeking a Fiscal Technician to join its Integrated Health and Policy Research (IHPR) Unit. This Unit (Division) is an interdisciplinary team of researchers who conduct research and policy analysis to support health care and delivery system reform, as well as health services, evaluation, and health policy initiatives that has been continuously funded since 1997. The position assists the IHPR Director of Administration and Principal Investigators to serve the financial and related administrative needs of IHPR’s federal, state, and private contract and grant accounts including pre- and post-award management. This position is responsible for key financial job duties to ensure smooth operational functioning for the Division including contract and grant financial management, documentation, scheduling, records management, building and maintaining relationships, and effectively working across academic, administrative and fiscal departments, vendors, funders and community partners to ensure seamless management of the Division’s fiscal functions.
