After graduating from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 2014, I began working for then-Governor Nikki Haley as Special Assistant to the Governor. During the two-plus years I spent working at Governor Haley’s side, I gained tremendous insight into the inner workings of state government, observing the arts of negotiation and diplomacy and the benefits of purposeful, hard work. I also learned invaluable lessons in leadership, both under the best of circumstances and during times of struggle and heartbreak.
In 2017, I moved to Chicago, IL and began the Master of Public Policy program at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy as a Harris Alumni Fellow. As a graduate student, I was involved in Harris Student Government, Women in Public Policy, and the Edward L. Kaplan New Venture Challenge. I graduated with my MPP in June 2019.
I am passionate about promoting social justice and using research to discover ways to better the health and well-being of families. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, reading, playing tennis, and cheering for the Clemson Tigers. My husband, Tim, and I live in the Columbia area with our daughter, Myers, and our two beloved dogs, Reagan and Addie.
