Seth Church is a geographic information systems expert with skills in geospatial data structures, web services, advanced geospatial analytics, and visualizations. Prior to his position as a GIS Research Associate with the Division of Medicaid Policy Research (MPR), Mr. Church served as Health GIS Manager for the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control where he was awarded the agency’s highest honor, The Director’s Award, for innovative uses of GIS. As an integral member of the public health team, he worked alongside state officials and epidemiologists to spatially monitor and investigate health indicators for chronic and acute disease surveillance.
Mr. Church's areas of specialization include python programming, geospatial modeling, cartographic design, mapping applications, and web development. His work has received numerous accolades including a Special Achievement in GIS recognition from ESRI for extraordinary contributions to the field.
